Williamsport, Pa. — A man walked into a stranger's home and took a nap on the couch, police say.

The homeowner reportedly found 36-year-old Kyle Houseknecht sleeping on the couch at 6 a.m. at the man's Anthony Street home on April 25. When the homeowner told Houseknecht he wasn't welcome there, Houseknecht "looked at him and closed his eyes and laid back down on the couch."

Police had dealt with him earlier that morning after reports that a man was sitting in the parking lot in the 500 block of Washington Boulevard, not moving.

When approached, Houseknecht refused to speak with police, Officer Brandon Wheeler said. Houseknecht tried to walk away from law enforcement several times, Wheeler added.

Houseknecht refused medical treatment before running east on Seventh Street, according to the complaint. He allegedly walked between homes to lose pursuing officers.

Houseknecht, Montoursville, is being charged with third-degree felony criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, and loitering. He is free on $15,000 unsecured bail.
