Traffic Impact for The Woodlands Triathlon on Saturday, May 11
The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department produces the The Woodlands Triathlon, a USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned event, that will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024. The race earned a Top 10 spot in the USAT South Midwest Region for Sprint Distance Triathlons in 2004, was designated as the USAT South Midwest Region Sprint State Championships for 2007, and served as the Texas State Triathlon Championship in 2017.
Aggie Paysse brothers qualify for U.S. Open
William Paysse and Andrew Paysse, brothers who played golf at Texas A&M, both qualified for the 124th U.S. Open, which will be held at Pinehurst, N.C, from June 13-16. The bothers from Belton both shot 3-under 69 to be among seven qualifiers at Escondido Golf & Lake Club in Horseshoe Bay on Monday. Boerne’s Zach Hefferman, a junior at Baylor, won at 8-under 63. Tyler Isenhart, a graduate on the Baylor team from Geneva, Ill., was second at 4-under 67. The Paysse brothers were part of a four-way tie for third along with Heath’s Andrew Baucum, a junior at Memphis, and The Hills’ Ethan Dufresne, a Sam Houston State signee. Erik Matthewson, 28, from Las Vegas claimed the last spot. He shot 2-under and was part of a four-way tie.
