The intrigue: Crowds queued up at 2100 South and 700 East before the California-based chain's official grand opening at 6:30am Friday. An hour later, the line wrapped around the corner. What's inside: A selection of specialty yeast and cake-style donuts, with flavors like cookies and créme, huckleberry and strawberry buttermilk. The shop bakes its donuts fresh each hour. Latest restaurant closures around Utah
The Taiwanese cuisine of this East Side restaurant (2095 E 1300 S) appears to be no more. Several readers have contacted me, noticing the closure, and asking for more details, but sadly, at this time, I’ve seen no official word. Yelp does report the business has closed, with Google displaying a more vague ‘temporarily closed’. Here’s hoping they bounce back – their food was top drawer. As was the menu at Matchstick Bar & Grill – which was also operated by the same team (if memory serves) – and also sadly closed around a year ago.
