Ali resigns from Quincy School Board
QUINCY – After 11 years and a stint as the board’s president, Sayeed Ali announced he was stepping down from the Quincy School Board at Wednesday night’s meeting. Ali, who was elected to the board in 2013, said he hadn’t planned to run for a third term in 2021, but coming out of the COVID Pandemic followed by the departure of former superintendent Roy Webb convinced him to stick around for the beginning of Superintendent Todd Pettit’s tenure in 2022 as well as the transition of Shelley Arns taking over from Ali as the board’s president.

Children can test riding skills on bicycle obstacle course during Ride Cool on June 1
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Clinic Health Services will be the host of Ride Cool from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 1, at 100 Medical Drive. Youths attending will have the chance to win a new bike at the event. Free helmets and T-shirts will be given away as long as supplies last. Children are invited to bring their own bike to test their riding skills and safety knowledge on a bicycle obstacle course.
