What's Up in Bear Valley Springs?
Big changes have been taking place between the Bear Valley CSD and the Bear Valley Springs Association. The CSD General Manager, Bill Malinen had recently put in his resignation. He did agree to hang in there for two more months until the CSD Board was able to recruit a GM. Some on the CSD Board decided to hire the BVS Association GM, Wesley Shryock, as an interim general manager until they recruited a full-time person. That leaves the Association without a GM. Shryock was promised the same salary as Malinen, though he has much less experience as a CSD General Manager. Director Hernandez pointed out at the most recent CSD meeting that Malinen had agreed to stay on till July, and that the money used to hire the interim manager could have been more effectively used to recruit a GM with more experience of that nature. When it came to a vote on Shryock, Directors Frevert and Jensen as well and President Grace voted to hire Shryock as an Interim GM, with Director Hernandez voting no. Director Quinn abstained. At the end of the meeting, Director Quinn surprised everyone by resigning from the Board, stating intent to move away from the community due to no longer being able to keep up his property.
