The Sandy Valley Cardinals are moving on the sectional baseball tournament. Led by Nick Petro on the mound, the Cardinals defeated Bellaire 3-0 Monday evening at Sandy Valley. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the second inning when the Cardinals added a pair of runs to take a 2-0 lead. The third and final run was scored in the bottom of the fifth inning.

PARIS (AP) — Paris garbage collectors have lifted the strike notice that threatened to leave the French capital facing piles of rubbish during the Olympic Games.
