St. Albans extends season, sectional tournament with 10-2 win over GW
ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — Facing elimination for the second game in a row, St. Albans was not shaken by an early deficit in the first game of the championship round in the Class AAA Region III, Section 1 Tournament. The Red Dragons scored ten unanswered runs to extend their season with a 10-2 win over George Washington.
Marshall basketball announce Rob Fulford as new associate head coach
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — Marshall announced Rob Fulford as associate head coach of the men’s basketball team Tuesday, according to a news release from the university. "He’s a first-class person and a first-class coach with a first-class work ethic,” Coach Cornelius Jackson said in a statement. “He’s a proven winner who’s had major success coaching in recruiting at the college and prep school levels.”

Buffalo softball punches ticket to state tournament
BUFFALO, W.VA. (WCHS) — In Class A, Buffalo doubled up Ravenswood 6-3 to advance to the state tournament. Buffalo will face Petersburg in game two on Wednesday, May 22. Kelsey Brock had a pair of hits for Buffalo, including a triple and it was also a two-hit night for the Bison's Kimmie Dillman. Brooke Meadows hit two doubles for Ravenswood.
Chants Knock Off Thundering Herd 6-3 on Thursday
HUNTINGTON, W.VA. – The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers knocked off the Marshall Thundering Herd 6-3 on Thursday evening in Huntington, W.V., for the Chants’ eighth straight win over the Herd. With the win, the Chanticleers improved to 31-21 on the season and 14-14 in Sun Belt action, while Marshall dropped to 18-35 overall and 9-19 in league play with the loss.

They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Fairland Dragons on Tuesday.
