Cal Moreau kept Milton's potent lineup in check for Monona Grove in a Badger Large Conference game Thursday night.

The Silver Eagles starter threw six innings, struck out six and had two unearned runs charged to him after his team gave him a lead to protect in the first inning of their second 6-2 win of the week over the Red Hawks.

Milton pitcher Broden Jackson struggled with control in Monona Grove's four-run first, hitting the first batter he faced and then walking three straight to bring a run in.

After a sacrifice fly for the second out, Luke Chynoweth doubled to left to score two more and make it 4-0.

The Red Hawks (6-5 overall, 4-4 Badger Large) cut their deficit in the third, taking advantage of a one-out error with two on to score their first run. Jackson then made a productive second out with an RBI groundout that got Milton within 4-2.

Monona Grove got those runs back in the fourth, though, with RBI by Terek Verhage and Kaden Connor.

Milton has dropped three straight games after a six-game win streak. Its game scheduled Friday afternoon against Beloit Turner at ABC Supply Stadium in Beloit was postponed, so the Red Hawks are next scheduled to play at 10 a.m. Saturday at home against Janesville Parker.
