One wounded, one arrested after Midland apartment shooting

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – A Midlander was sent to the hospital Thursday afternoon after sustaining a gunshot wound during a robbery attempt of a juvenile.

According to a release from MPD, at about 4:55pm on Thursday, April 25, officers responded to a gunshot victim at the Compass Point Apartments, located in the 1500 block of Wayside Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found a female subject who had a gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed, “the [juvenile] suspect arrived at the apartment with intentions of robbing a juvenile male. During a physical altercation between the males the gun was fired once hitting the victim in the pelvic area.”

Midland Police reported the victim was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital and the suspect was arrested for Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
