Oil and gas companies talk what they look for in candidates at local job fair

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – “Permian Basin Hiring Events” held an oil and gas job fair at the MCM FunDome on Thursday.

The multi-company hiring event featured many employers who were looking for newcomers and veterans of the energy industry.

We asked some of the attending employers what they are looking for in a potential employee.

“What I look for is job stability, so I do go through the resumes and I just look for red flags, you know, if they are jumping from job to job, you know,” said Daniel Wissar.

“Good solid people that just want to come in and be part of our business and grow with us and make a good living and enjoy what they’re doing with us,” said Jeff Mullican.

The next local job fair that “Permian Basin Hiring Events” is hosting will be on May 30 in Midland. The venue of that fair is still to be announced. You can learn more about this event and previous event on the organization’s Facebook page here .
