Reed’s Madison Co. trial set for July
Alex Reed’s preliminary hearing in Madison County has been set. Nearly two months after turning himself in to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on a charge of stalking and two counts of illegal use of a tracking device on a vehicle, Reed, who’s the chief of staff for Jackson Mayor Scott Conger, appeared in Madison County Circuit Court in front of Judge Kyle Atkins on Monday for a status hearing.
STEMC proposes expansion for Chester County
Southwest Electric is planning to invest $6 million in a new electrical distribution substation for Southwest TN Electric Membership Corporation (STEMC). This project is preparing Chester County for growth as attested by Kevin Murphy, STEMC’s President, Vice President of Engineering Clint Malone, and STEMC’s Community Relations Specialist, Kenley Mitchell. The result of increased tax revenue will be approximately $60,000 to the county and approximately $30,000 to the city. The current infrastructure is standing well but at some point, will approach a capacity issue. Once a capacity issue is present, reliability issues could pose a potential threat in the future.
Man involved in chase, fatality charged with murder
CULLMAN, Ala. – A Tennessee man is facing a murder charge for his role in a high-speed pursuit and wreck that left a Crane Hill woman dead in south Cullman Friday, May 24. Michael Neal Ivy, 39, of Middleton, Tennessee, is charged in the death of Ellarea Dickson, 77.
