Cleveland City Council to vote on ‘Art Modell’ ordinance
As Signal Cleveland first reported last week, the Cleveland Browns are trying to rally support behind an ambitious proposal to build a multipurpose stadium and entertainment district in Brook Park near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. It’s an alternative to renovating its current home on the lakefront, which has limited space for all the Browns envision as its next longterm home. It’s newest proposal is also considerably more expensive, with a new stadium expected to cost more than $2 billion, twice the cost of renovating. The team has been telling people it’s committed to paying at least 50% of the cost.

Guardians’ Steven Kwan on hamstring injury: ‘It’s not something to be optimistic about’
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Left fielder Steven Kwan, his left leg wrapped above the knee, talked to reporters after Saturday night’s 7-1 win by the Guardians over the Angels. Kwan, the Guardians two-time Gold Glove left fielder, left the game after three innings with a tight left hamstring. He’ll have an MRI on Sunday to determine the seriousness of the injury.
Girls flag football league playoff night set for May 6 at Cleveland Browns Stadium
Girls flag football supremacy will be on the line when the Northeast Ohio Flag Football League holds its annual playoff tournament May 6 at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Twenty-six varsity teams will take the field in search of flag football glory, with games beginning at 4:30 p.m. Semifinal games will be played at 8 p.m., with the championship game scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start.
