Capital District schools get $12M for electric buses
Six school districts in the Capital Region will get nearly $12,080,000 in federal rebate funding to go toward the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) new Clean School Bus Program. The program aims to take the burden off taxpayers and make it easier for schools to afford new buses to help preserve a clean commute.
White River girls, Thetford boys take home D3 Track titles
FAIR HAVEN, Vt. (WCAX) - The White River Valley girls and Thetford boys claimed the D3 track and field state championships on a beautiful sunny day at Fair Haven Union High School on Thursday. For the Wildcats, the title was their second straight, while the Panthers made it five championships in a row. White River Valley got a major challenge from Woodstock, but a sweep of the hurdle races and a win in the triple jump by Amara Calhum Flowers helped the Wildcats hold off the Wasps 117 to 110. Thetford’s boys were never remotely threatened, with Ulysses Junker Boyce leading the way. He racked up solo wins in the 100, 200, and long jump before anchoring the 4x100 meter relay team that also claimed first place. The Panthers’ 218 points were 160 points better than runner up Bellows Falls!
