La Porte, IN – A store was evacuated Thursday after a suspicious package was found at the Family Express on Johnson Road, prompting a bomb scare. According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies discovered an unlabeled styrofoam package near the storefront, underneath a U.S. Postal Service mailbox. They secured the area, evacuated the store, and cleared the parking lot to ensure public safety.
