Public pools in W.Va. open for Memorial Day weekend
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — Pools across the West Virginia are open Memorial Day weekend for those looking to beat the heat. “We are excited to start another pool season in the City of Charleston,” Rashaun Poore, Director of Parks ad Recreation, said in a news release Friday. “One of the most exciting parts of pool season is seeing some of our community center kids becoming a part of our team by working some of our seasonal jobs.”

Charleston man receives prison sentence for breaking and entering Walgreens location
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Kanawha County man who pleaded guilty to a property crime earlier this month faces up to a decade in prison, prosecutors said. Arsenio Eugene Dowell, 39, of Charleston, was sentenced Wednesday to one to 10 years in prison for breaking in entering, according to a social media post from the Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney.

West Virginia Democrats to hold State Convention
CHARLESTON – The West Virginia Democratic Party will hold its State Convention June 14-15 at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, 200 Civic Center Drive.
