Huntsville's Jazz in the Park 2024 lineup announced
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The 2024 Jazz in the Park lineup has been announced! These performances are set to happen every Sunday in September at Big Spring Park East, though this year’s series will also have performances on Sunday, September 1, and Monday, September 2, which is also Labor Day.

Plans for what could be a more than 1,100-home development in the Limestone County portion of Huntsville are moving forward. The Huntsville Planning Commission approved the planned development for the southern portion of Greenbrier Preserve south of Swancott Road and west of Rabbit Lane that could lead to construction of as many as 400 homes.

Madison school board approves $49 million elementary school contract
The Madison Board of Education approved a construction contract on Wednesday for a $49 million elementary school in Limestone County. Pearce Construction was the low bidder among five companies vying to build what will be the district’s eighth elementary school. “It was a great bid,” Superintendent Ed Nichols said. “The cost of bids has been significantly higher in the last few years, but this bid was well under our construction budget of $58 million.”

ALDOT opens bids for I-565 widening in Madison
MADISON, Ala. — ALDOT opened bids today for a project to expand I-565 to six lanes from County Line Road to Wall Triana Highway in Madison. Of four bidders, contractor Wiregrass Construction submitted the apparent low bid of $28,992,350. Bids were anticipated to be between $28 and $34.2 million.
