    Blumenthal to announce $448K grant for new hangar at Meriden-Markham Airport

    MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Senator Blumenthal is set to announce changes to the Meriden-Markham Airport.

    Blumenthal along with the mayor of Meriden will announce a $448,000 grant that will be used to build a new 10,000-square-foot hangar, which is where aircraft will be stored and maintenance or services will be performed.

    The press conference is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m.

    Blumenthal will also be making a stop in Hartford earlier in the day Monday to talk about airlines protecting passenger rights, travel delays, disruptions, refunds, surprise junk fees and consumer abuses.
