Storm chances chances return today
PEORIA (25News Now) - After a dry Sunday, storm chances return in the forecast to begin the work week. We will start off our Monday morning dry with a few areas of patchy fog before a shortwave is expected to pass through Central Illinois. This feature will pass during the afternoon into the evening, driving the chance for storms to develop. An isolated strong to severe storm will be possible, as a Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe weather is in place across all of Central Illinois with a Slight Risk (level 2 out of 5) just to our northwest near Princeton and further northwest. If any strong to severe storm were to develop, our threats would be isolated large hail and damaging winds. While we do have the chance for storms and isolated severe storms, there will be a few factors at play which may limit storm development. There will likely be a limited amount of shear (variation in wind speed or direction throughout the atmosphere) that would support or maintain storms. As a result, storms will likely be shorted lived and isolated. Our best chance for storms will run from 3-9 PM, with many remaining dry today. Additional storms will be possible Tuesday afternoon with a few more lingering showers into early Wednesday morning before dry conditions return for the second half of the week. Make sure to tune in this morning for the full 10 Day First Alert Forecast!

While Officers were in the process of securing the perimeter of the crime scene, Magana arrived and quickly approached an area of the perimeter that had been cordoned off by yellow tape. Magana ignored Officers when they ordered him to stop as he attempted to run toward the crime scene. Officers attempted to detain Magana at which time he refused to provide access to his hands.
