Arkansas traffic stop reveals nearly 300 pounds of narcotics; suspect arrested

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A California man was arrested on drug charges after a Crittenden County traffic stop revealed nearly 300 pounds of marijuana.

On March 27 at 5:30 p.m., Arkansas State Police pulled over a tan freightliner motorhome near the 278-mile marker in Crittenden County, Ark., for a traffic violation.

While searching the motorhome, troopers discovered several duffle bags containing 298 pounds of marijuana.

The driver, 55-year-old Antranik Keshisian, is a resident of North Hollywood, California. Reports say he claimed to be traveling from California to Florida when he was stopped.

Keshisian was taken into custody and transported to Crittenden County Detention Center.

He is facing charges such as Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Failure to Register a Vehicle with Expired Tags.
