Gov. Kathy Hochul today honored 68 police officers from seven departments who sacrificed their lives in service to their fellow New Yorkers. The officers’ names have been added to the New York State Police Officers Memorial at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, and Hochul spoke this afternoon at the remembrance ceremony. The black granite walls of the memorial now include the names of 1,840 police officers from 152 agencies across the state, and six federal agencies.

Homeless man crashes stolen car into sheriff's vehicle in Saratoga County escape
Saratoga, NY (WRGB) — A homeless man is in Saratoga County Jail after police say he stole a car and hit a sheriff's patrol vehicle while fleeing. Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a stolen vehicle on I-87 northbound near Exit 10 in Clifton Park Monday night just before 6:45 p.m. The car was reported stolen earlier from the parking lot of the Stewart’s shop at 1206 Route 146 and was then spotted on I-87.
