One killed, one injured in interstate crash near Hueytown
One person was killed and another injured in a wreck involving an 18-wheeler Saturday morning near Hueytown. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says 29-year-old Martin Rodriguez-Ramirez of Cullman was driving a 2018 GMC Acadia that crashed into a guardrail at approximately 5:15 a.m. Saturday. He was outside of the SUV when he was hit by a 2019 Freightliner tractor-trailer that was driven by 22-year-old Carlos H. Almaguer-Perez of Hollywood Florida.

City of Hoover passes resolution to withhold portion of AMWASTE bill after expending resources to fix issues

The city continues to have issues with the service and is hitting trash pickup company Amwaste’s pockets in the process. According to city leaders, for the March 25 - April 26 billing cycle, the company had 3,102 reported missed pickups. The actual number could be higher.
