Veteran's donation to the town of Irasburg
This photo was shared with us from the 'Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association VT 26-4 inc. They were asked by Roger Gagnon, a Vietnam veteran who lives in Irasburg, to escort his newly built pavilion to the town Common. He made the gift from trees off his own property and, along with picnic tables and benches, donated it all for town use on the common. The riders say it was a last-minute request they we honored to fulfill.

Pride flag stolen from Harwood Union High School, police seek information
MORETOWN — In a late-night act of theft, two individuals were reported to have stolen a Pride flag from Harwood Union High School, authorities said Monday. At 9:14 a.m. on June 12, Vermont State Police at the Berlin Barracks were notified of the incident, which occurred on school grounds.
How Vermont finalists Honey Road and Barr Hill fared in James Beard Awards
Vermont was shut out Monday at the James Beard Awards, as two finalists for the prominent food-industry honors did not win their respective categories. Executive chef/co-owner Cara Tobin of Honey Road, the celebrated Eastern Mediterranean-style restaurant at Church and Main streets in Burlington, lost out in the Best Chef: Northeast category to David Standridge of The Shipwright's Daughter in Mystic, Connecticut. Other finalists in the New England-centric category were from Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island.
Forecasted Rain, Thunderstorms Wash Out Saturday, June 8 Program at White Mountain
N. Woodstock, NH — After officials remained hopeful that the morning would bring with it a better outlook, Saturday’s persistent forecast continues to be unstable over White Mountain Motorsports Park. With the forecast calling for rain and sporadic thunderstorms, and with the traveling NELCAR teams in mind, White Mountain officials have opted to cancel the evening’s racing activities. Officials will discuss options for moving both the NELCAR Legends and Bandoleros and the Foley Oil & Propane activities to different dates and release any pertinent information to teams and fans next week. There will be no racing at White Mountain on Saturday, June 8.
