The city council voted in August 2025 to update its comprehensive transportation plan; however, city representatives said a new plan will be created as the city "prepares to leverage newly available T-SPLOST revenues approved by Cherokee County voters in 2025 and initiated in April 2026." As city staff work to create this plan, opportunities for public input and engagement will include stakeholder meetings, focus groups and a public meeting. The plan will also integrate non‑vehicle mobility options by identifying sidewalk gaps, prioritizing sidewalk infill, assessing bicycle and trail connectivity, and evaluating golf cart travel demand to support safer and more accessible multimodal routes, according to the city.
