Hoosier Lottery: Winning Powerball ticket purchased in Noblesville
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Hoosiers who recently bought a Powerball ticket in Noblesville should check their ticket. A $50,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold at an AJ Quick Mart location in Noblesville after Wednesday’s drawing, according to a news release from the Hoosier Lottery. The ticket matched four out of five numbers, as well as the Powerball, in Wednesday’s drawing.

The Iron Skillet, a family-style restaurant located in an 1870s-era home, has shuttered. Open since 1953 at 2489 W. 30th St., the throwback destination, with its big bowls of fried chicken (some of the region’s best, in our estimation) and long-cooked sides, hosted many an unchallenging—unless we’re talking about family dynamics, perhaps—intergenerational gathering. Owner Ronald Torr tells the Star, “I’m 74 years old. It’s time to retire.” He hopes he can sell the restaurant but has yet to line up a buyer.
Carmel’s BoberTea & MochiDough closes after owner beats cancer
BoberTea & MochiDough on Carmel’s Main Street has closed. A note by shop owners Irene and Dave Tang posted on the door explains the decision to shutter the business. “We want to share some great and not-so-great news with you. The great news is that our owner and fearless leader Dave has officially kicked bone marrow cancer in the rear after months of chemo, stem cell transplant, and hospitalization. We feel incredibly blessed and thankful for his cancer free results,” it states. “Unfortunately, the treatment took its toll on finances. It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of BoberTea MochiDough Carmel.”
