FAMU brings back Richard Schweigert as interim CFO amid staff shortage
For a second time, Richard Schweigert has been named the interim finance head at Florida A&M University amid audit issues and a load of vacancies. And one of his tasks appears to be helping the university with staffing as 2026 audits are being prepared, which comes after red flags were raised in an auditor general's March 2025 report on FAMU’s finances for the fiscal year ending in June 2024. It was two years ago when Peter Boulware, owner of the namesake Toyota dealership, announced plans to open a Lexus dealership and offer a local option for purchasing the luxury automobile brand of high-end vehicles. An official grand opening celebration is scheduled later in the year. The meantime, the 44,260 square-foot facility features a two-story showroom and service center with 16 service bays. It's located at 3700 W. Tennessee St., the same location of Peter Boulware Toyota. The official Lexus dealership is an extension of the flagship brand created by Boulware, who played for Florida State University's football team and went on to become an NFL Super Bowl champion while playing for the Baltimore Ravens in 2001. The new Lexus dealership brings 60 total team members to the location, which includes 40 new jobs, and a host of elevated experiences or its customers: Lexus Café serving premium coffee and espresso beverages, comfortable luxury lounge chairs, private work stations.
