Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash with minivan on N.J. highway
A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on crash with a minivan in Cumberland County on Wednesday, according to the New Jersey State Police. Nestor Rodriguez Jr., 38, of Millville, was riding west on Route 49 near Sunset Avenue in Fairfield Township around 9:45 a.m. when his motorcycle crossed the centerline and collided with an eastbound minivan, a police spokesman said.

Longport swears-in two new Special Class 1 Officers
LONGPORT – As the summer season quickly approaches, the Longport Board of Commissioners has hired two new Special Class 1 Officers to patrol the borough. On Wednesday, Commissioner of Public Safety Dan Lawler swore in Nicholas R. Salvati, 19, of Hammonton, and John Veres, 20, of South River. Both are Criminal Justice majors – Salvati at Quinnipiac University and Veres at Stockton University. They will work during the summer months before returning to their classes in the fall.
