Nearly $90 million Waverly School District bond fails
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Voters in the Waverly School District rejected a nearly $90 million bond issue. According to unofficial final results released Tuesday night by the Lancaster County Election Commission, 1,605 people voted against the school bond, while 757 voted in favor of it. Although provisional ballots are yet to be counted, with 68% of voters opposing the measure, its passage appears unlikely.

Size of Nebraska nursing scholarships doubled
LINCOLN, Neb. (Press Release) - Changes in the State of Nebraska nursing scholarship program mean bigger scholarships and expanded eligibility. Nebraska residents enrolled in a licensed practical nurse program, associate degree of nursing program, or traditional or accelerated Bachelor of Science in nursing program are eligible for scholarships up to $5,000 per semester. Students enrolled in quarterly programs are eligible for up to $3,500 per quarter.
