Girls Varsity Softball beats Southmont 11 – 3
Playing their third game in three days the Bulldogs were able to get through a slow start in the field to get out of the top of the 1st with the Mounties being held scoreless. The Mounties would get a two-out walk, followed by a single. The next batter hit a ball down the leftfield line that would touch the chalk. Be aggressive on the bases Southmont would test the arm of left fielder Long, and that would end the inning as Long would throw a BB on line to Davison who slap the runner with some leather ending the top of the 1st.
Central beats Crawfordsville 17 – 6
The picture shows how the week began with the girls playing in mud and water and it ended with a win on a hot, sunny, sweaty day. Playing their 4th game in 4 days, and their second Sagamore Conference team on back-to-back nights, the Bulldogs traveled to Crawfordsville for a late morning start. Finally, a game where sweatshirts and gloves would not need to be worn. THe skys were bblue and the sun was hot. The Bulldogs bats were as hot as the sun and on this day the “yips” were gone. They would get 17 hits on this day and only 4 Ks.
