Firefighters give tips to avoid common water dangers during Memorial weekend
ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - Memorial weekend could get many of us outside, but law enforcement agencies said holiday weekends usually see the most deaths in the water. During the holiday weekend, beaches could be filled with people enjoying the weather. The Marquette City Fire Department said swimming in a pool or lake can be fun but also dangerous. Firefighter Josh Fenske said all nine city-employed lifeguards will be stationed at McCarty’s Cove in Marquette for the whole summer.
