    Classical music takes center stage at two Mansfield churches Sunday

    Two Mansfield churches have special musical performances planned for May 5.

    The St. Peter’s Music Series presentation of the BlueWater Chamber Orchestra will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday in St. Peter’s Church at 60 S. Mulberry St. in Mansfield. BlueWater Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Artistic Director Daniel Meyer, returns to St. Peter's with a program featuring world renowned guitarist Jason Vieaux as soloist. He will perform Vivaldi's "Guitar Concerto in D," as well as a new work for guitar and strings by Israeli composer Avner Dorman entitled "How to Love." Ending the program is Beethoven "Symphony No. 7."

    The concert is family friendly and played without intermission. Admission is free and open to the public. Call 419-524-2572 ext. 2113 for more information.

    First Congregational

    The First Congregational Church Cancel Choir Sunday will present "Te Deum" by Karl Jenkins, under the direction of Dirk Eachus, during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

    The church, located at 640 Millsboro Road in Mansfield, will also be holding its spring rummage sale 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m.-noon Thursday.
