MANITOWOC — Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office is scheduled to hold a planned training session this week at Jefferson Elementary School.

Manitowoc Public School District's Mental Wellness and Safety Coordinator Nermana Turajlic said, in a news release, a large number of law enforcement vehicles will be parked in the school's front circular drive all day because of the training.

The event, a Physical Security Assessment Training, will be held at the school at 1415 Division St. from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 18 and more than 20 sheriff's deputies will be attending.

The release said the training is independent of the school district and will have minimal impact on students and teachers.
