Red Cross opens shelter in Jonesboro following today’s storms
Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 22, 2024 – The American Red Cross has opened a shelter for residents affected by today’s storm damage which left trees on homes and many without power. The shelter is located at Allen Park Community Center, 3609 Race St. Much of the wind damage from Wednesday’s storms were focused in the Fairview subdivision area located North of Race Street. Some residents were unable to remain in their homes due to damage from fallen trees.

Update 10:15pm May 22, 2024 – City Water and Light crews have made much progress in the work to restore power to customers who lost service during the storms earlier today. As of 10:15pm the CWL outage map showed roughly 630 customers still without power. Craighead Electric showed no outages on its outage map. Entergy reported 643 customers without service in Mississippi County.
