‘Get a Fire Extinguisher!’ Fox Correspondent Pleads For Help As Man Sets Himself on Fire Outside Trump Trial

Chaos ensued outside the Manhattan courthouse where Donald Trump is standing trial after a man set himself on fire on Friday.

Reporters gathered outside reacted in real time to the shocking act . Fox News reporter Eric Shawn could be heard yelling for a fire extinguisher after seeing what was happening. Fox News only briefly showed the man on fire, quickly cutting away and instead showing images of Trump in court while Shawn talked.

“We apologize for showing this,” he said after the camera turned to capture the horrific sight.

The reporter could then be heard shouting for a fire extinguisher.

“Get a fire extinguisher! Do you have a fire extinguisher in the truck? Do we have a fire extinguisher in the truck?” he yelled.

Shawn reported the fire had been put out soon after and the network cut to a commercial break.

The reporter later said there was “panic” and “screaming” and reported that police were speaking with the man.

“It’s almost inconceivable that anyone could survive that,” Shawn said.

The incident occurred as it was being reported that a jury had been selected in Trump’s hush money trial.

CNN’s Laura Coates similarly reacted in real time, saying she could “smell the burning of flesh.”
