Hit-and-run death investigation leads to arrest of Boynton Beach man
DELRAY BEACH — A 19-year-old Boynton Beach man is facing charges related to a fatal hit-and-run crash involving an older man in Delray Beach last November. Police last week arrested Trajan Johnson on one count apiece of leaving the scene of an accident causing death and tampering with evidence. Delray Beach police said Johnson struck and killed 71-year-old Romeo Della Valle on the 1300 block of Southwest 10th Avenue on Nov. 11, 2023, then fled from the scene of the crash.

(AP) — A crowd cheered and took photos as two loggerhead sea turtles slowly made their way through the sand and into the Atlantic Ocean on Monday after rehabbing at a Florida marine life center. Cayman and Finley arrived at Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach after separate incidents left them injured, officials said. The center treats injured turtles and releases them back into their natural habitat as soon as they are healthy enough to survive on their own. Cayman’s front left flipper became entangled in fishing line, and he was brought to the center on Feb. 6, in need of surgery, said Dr. Heather Barron, a veterinarian and the center’s chief science officer.

73-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by Dump Truck at Palm Beach Gardens Intersection
A tragic crash early Tuesday morning claimed the life of a 73-year-old woman in Palm Beach Gardens, when her car was struck by a dump truck, authorities reported. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office disclosed that the collision took place near the intersection of Bee Line Highway and PGA Boulevard at approximately 6:17 a.m. Margaret Zenga, the woman behind the wheel of a white Mercedes, had been waiting at a red light in the left turn lane of the westbound lanes on PGA Boulevard, WPTV reported. Meanwhile, the driver of the dump truck was heading northwest on Beeline Highway where it intersected with PGA Boulevard on a green light.
