Malvern family continues to hope for answers in 2018 disappearance of loved one

MALVERN, Ark. – Since 2018, a Hot Spring County family has been searching for answers after their loved one went missing in Malvern.

Police said 59-year-old Malvern native Peggy Crabtree went missing from a home on Erwin Road on July 3, 2018.

Her niece Tonya Johnson said Crabtree was a mother, sister and loving person, but as the years go by her family says it’s been heartbreaking still having no answers in their loved one’s disappearance.

“I want to know where she is and why this happened to her,” Johnson said.

Johnson said these are the gut-wrenching questions this family has been plagued with for years.

“We don’t even care what happened, we just want to know where she is at so we can have closure,” Johnson said.

Johnson said her family has searched the 100-acre property multiple times since Crabtree was last seen. Despite all the searches, she said there are still no answers to where Crabtree is at.

“I dream about her all the time. I remember her laugh, she was so fun to be around,” she said. “It was never a dull moment, never.”

Johnson said Crabtree had four kids and a number of grandkids who all miss her, one of the many reasons she hopes someone comes forward with answers.

“We just want to know where she is at, so we can finally put her to rest and bury her,” she said. “It’s not fair.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Hot Springs County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is still ongoing and the FBI is assisting.
