Dane County Medical Examiner identifies man shot, killed on Madison's north side

MADISON, Wis. -- The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office on Wednesday identified the man who police said was shot and killed on Madison's north side last week.

Andre Wrice, 31, of Madison was found with a gunshot wound outside an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Northport Drive at around 6:30 p.m. on April 10. He died at a hospital later that night.

Police arrested 27-year-old Tamar Briana Beasley in the wake of the shooting. Officials said she and Wrice shared children. Beasley is charged with first-degree intentional homicide stemming from the shooting.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the case against Beasley, she claimed Wrice punched her prior to the shooting. Surveillance footage from the apartment complex allegedly shows the two get into an argument but Wrice is never seen throwing a punch.

Cash bond for Beasley was set at $1 million during a hearing last week.
