Midwest Horse Fair back in Madison this weekend

MADISON, Wis. -- The 43rd annual Midwest Horse Fair is back in Madison this weekend.

The event will run from Friday to Sunday at Alliant Energy Center where it will feature 400+ exhibitors, 30+ clinicians and 30+ breed and discipline groups.

New events this year include:

  • The Wisconsin Future Farmers of America (FFA) State Horse Evaluation Career Development Event - The top 25 FFA teams in Wisconsin will compete Friday for the opportunity to advance to the National FFA Horse Evaluation CDE, held at the National FFA Convention.
  • The Horse Career Exploration Forum -Attendees can explore horse-related career paths and college opportunities from 1-3 p.m. Saturday.
  • Rare, Critical and Threatened Breeds -This event will showcase threatened, critical and rare breed groups.

"It is our privilege to host the best three-day horse fair in the USA," said Fair Executive Director Teri Giannetti. "We are looking forward to a fun-filled weekend showcasing the enjoyment to be had between riders and their beloved horses."

Tickets are available at Blaine's Farm and Fleet stores for $20 (one day) or $45 (three days). Children seven and under will be admitted for free.

New on Sunday this year, is military appreciation day, featuring free admission for all military and veterans with a valid ID.

Separate tickets are required for select events.
