Parkin Police Department invites community to ‘Meet the Blue’ Fun Day
PARKIN — The Parkin Police Department will host a “Meet the Blue” Community Fun Day this Saturday. The event will begin at noon in the Parkin City Hall courtyard. “The police need to be involved in the community,” said Parkin Police Chief Chris Miller. “We want them to come and meet every officer that is a part of Parkin P.D. We will have bounce houses [and are] giving a lot of things away to the community. Even the healthcare people are going to be down here, the education people are going to be down here, childcare, everything that involves the community in Parkin … to make sure we are helping them not just to uphold the law, but to also be community police.”
