Affordable housing developer pursues 800 Block site
Fort Lauderdale-based real estate firm Alexander Goshen is proposing to lease the parking lot at 800 1st Avenue South and transform it into an affordable housing complex. The group submitted a letter of intent in late May to the city after Tampa-based investment advisory firm Third Lake Partners made an unsolicited bid, offering $6 million to acquire a portion of the vacant parcel. TLP’s unsolicited bid triggered an open process for others to submit proposals.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Flooding closed off the southbound exit of I-275 on 54th Avenue South in St. Petersburg Wednesday afternoon, troopers said. Flooding could be seen from the Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) camera in the area. It also caught the moments a disabled car was being towed out of the floodwaters that took over the exit.

Heavy rain prompts flood advisory, spurs mess on I-275
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Torrential rainfall prompted a flood advisory Wednesday for parts of the Tampa Bay area and is making a mess of the evening commute. As of 5 p.m., about 2 to 4 inches of rain has fallen in parts of the St. Petersburg area, according to the National Weather Service. It's possible another 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall.
