The arrest of Markavis Sanders, a 20-year-old Fayette County, Tennessee, suspect, marked the close of a frantic search initiated after the homicide of 21-year-old Jaquavion Markell-Ball on April 19, in Holly Springs, MS, as reported by the U.S. Marshals Service.

A Tennessee man was sentenced to two consecutive life terms after he was found guilty of killing a woman and her 4-month-old son, prosecutors said Monday. >> Read more trending news Enoch Zarceno Turner, 29, of Memphis, was convicted on Saturday in a Shelby County court on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated arson, and especially aggravated burglary, WMC-TV reported. He will not be eligible for parole, according to WHBQ-TV. Turner was accused in the stabbing deaths of 32-year-old Heather Cook and her son, Bentley Cook, who were killed on Sept. 13, 2019, according to a news release from the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy received a subpoena connected to a lawsuit filed by the mother of Tyre Nichols against the City of Memphis. The subpoena is part of a $550 million civil lawsuit filed by Nichols' mother Rowvaughn Wells against the City of Memphis, Memphis Police Department Interim Police Chief C.J. Memphis Utility Worker Hospitalized After Dog Attack, Neighbor Fires Shots to Intervene
A Memphis utility worker was hospitalized after being viciously attacked by a dog while on the job, triggering a chaotic episode in a resident's backyard that ended with another neighbor firing shots at the canine, authorities said. According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the Memphis Light, Gas, and Water employee suffered severe lacerations from a bull mastiff while checking for a faulty meter around 8 a.m. on Saturday, Ground News reported.
