Coleman Unit helps at Stampede
On Saturday, April 27, several staff members from the Gregory Coleman Unit and their family turned out for the Kiwanis Stampede 5K run. These clubs are comprised of compassionate adults deeply concerned about children’s well-being. People joined Kiwanis clubs because they are dedicated to making a positive impact in children’s lives. As committed individuals striving to enhance children’s well-being, Kiwanis members are part of a worldwide network. They collaborate with each other and with organizations that share similar missions. Although staff had to be up early on a Saturday morning, every participant fully enjoyed themselves. San Marcos church feeling the aftermath of Thursday night storm
SAN MARCOS, Texas — Severe storms rolled through parts of Central Texas Thursday night, bringing with them damaging winds, large hail, and leading to some power outages. The City of San Marcos in Hays County was one area hit. Broken fences, downed power lines, and uprooted trees could all be seen driving through the city Friday. Now, recovery efforts are underway as community members come together to clean up.

Austin Community College Eyes Expansion, Lockhart ISD Annexation Headed to November Ballot
Residents in the Lockhart Independent School District (ISD) may soon be part of the Austin Community College (ACC) District following a unanimous decision by the ACC Board of Trustees to put an annexation item on the November ballot. The board gave the green light at their Monday meeting after a successful petition by community members.
