Now one week since he was arrested before his second round at the PGA Championship, the charges still stand against World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler was arrested and hit with four charges, including one felony count of second-degree assault on a police officer.

Scheffler described the situation as a "big misunderstanding," and many believed the charges against him would be quickly dropped.

But with the charges still standing, Scheffler's attorney Steve Romines has issued a warning to the prosecution.

“Our position remains the same as it was last Friday. I am not negotiating as we have no interest in settling. I am preparing to litigate as needed and the case will be dismissed or we will go to trial because Scottie did absolutely nothing wrong," Romines said in a statement, via ESPN's Jeff Darlington.

The arresting officer in the case, Bryan Gillis, did not have his body camera activated at the time of the incident. The Louisville Police Department said it's taken "corrective action" against Gillis for this violation.

LPD released new footage on Thursday — none of which showed any clear wrongdoing from Scheffler.

Scheffler is scheduled for a June 3 court date.
