Man dies after hit-and-run on Preston Highway. What we know

A man died Monday evening after a hit-and-run accident on Preston Highway near Chateau Lane, Louisville Metro Police said.

Seventh Division officers responded to a pedestrian collision after 9 p.m. in the 7100 block of Preston Highway and found a man, who they believe was an adult, who was struck and pronounced dead at the scene, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Based on witness statements, Ellis said investigators believe a white sedan was driving northbound and struck the man as he was walking on Preston Highway. The driver did not stop to help.

Ellis said they believe the car "should have damage to the front passenger side." He said it was last seen turning right onto Fern Valley Road.

The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating the accident.
