Albuquerque man pleads guilty to selling guns, machine gun conversion devices
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A 20-year-old Albuquerque man pleaded guilty to dealing firearms without a license and selling machine gun conversion devices. Federal investigators said that Joe Jasso used Instagram to sell the illegal devices used to convert semi-automatic guns into fully automatic machine guns. On Feb. 3, 2023, undercover detectives from the Albuquerque Police Department contacted Jasso through Instagram and set up a controlled purchase of machine gun conversion devices from Jasso and his mother, Rachael. Authorities also believe the two were buying guns for other criminals.
