LAX could rename terminals in proposed ‘wayfinding’ plan

A variety of changes could be coming to Los Angeles International Airport.

According to a proposed plan from Los Angeles World Airports reported by View from the Wing , LAX may rename and consolidate terminals, as well as assign letters to gates as part of a new design project.

One example provided by the travel blog includes combining Terminal 1 and Concourse 0 to form the new Terminal 1. Gates could also reset at each terminal and start over with a new letter.

The new plan would also create an upgraded signage system to prevent people from getting lost.

“The aim is to enhance guest experience by providing guests with relevant information to help put them at ease throughout their journey and make more deliberate decisions which will potentially open more possibilities for businesses at LAX,” according to the LAWA’s report to the Board of Airport Commissioners.
