USC Pro-Palestinian Protesters Released After LAPD Arrests at Alumni Park

LOS ANGELES, Apr. 25 (KNN) — Pro-Palestinian protesters waited for the release of those taken into custody by authorities during a protest Wednesday at the University of Southern California’s Alumni Park.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded when a large group of protesters refused to leave the park after dispersal orders were issued. They were all arrested.

Later Wednesday night, around 11:30 p.m., a large group of pro-Palestinian protesters were outside the LAPD’s 77th Division Station located at 7600 South Broadway, waiting for the USC protest arrestees to be released.

The protesters being released were fed food and drinks once they had exited the station.

One USC student gave Key News Network an on-camera interview about their involvement in the protest. Three people were seen released at this location

Forty or more protesters were seen waiting outside of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Center located at 180 North Los Angeles Street waiting for more USC protesters to be released.

According to the protesters, three people were released at this location and five more were still to be released. Two protesters gave an on-camera interview; one of the protesters released was not a student and gave a statement. The other protester, a student who was also arrested at the USC protest, gave a statement that they were hurt while being arrested.

The USC campus remained closed Thursday to the general public until further notice. Classes will continue as scheduled.
