How You Can Get Involved And Help The Planet This Earth Day Weekend

It's never the wrong time to pick up trash, remove invasive weeds, or learn about what we can do to handle the climate emergency. But it's a lot more fun when you're pitching in to save the planet with friends and neighbors, and Earth Day weekend is one of the best opportunities all year to get out there.

Here's just a few events happening around town, from volunteer events to educational opportunities to recycled arts and crafts.

  • Earth Day at the Natural History Museum : 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Location: 900 Exposition Blvd. in Exposition Park. Be warned, parking may be tricky due to sporting events
  • Friends of L.A. River Earth Day Extravaganza : 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Location: Lewis MacAdams Riverfront Park at 2944 Gleneden St. in Frogtown
  • South Bay Parkland Conservancy's Earth Day Event : 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    • Location: Hopkins Wilderness Park at 1102 Camino Real in Redondo Beach
