Woman Found Fatally Shot in South Los Angeles Street; Homicide Investigation Underway

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Mar. 20 (KNN) — A female was shot and killed late Tuesday evening and found in a roadway in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood of South Los Angeles, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Division officers responded to the 5800 block of South Hoover Street around 8:50 p.m. and found one victim in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Initial reports state that the victim was living in a vehicle parked in the area of the shooting, however, a spokesperson for the LAPD said the victim was not homeless.

Hoover Street was closed both north and southbound while LAPD conducted their investigation.

There is no suspect information and no further details at this time.
