    Lopatcong Township Police Seek Public's Help Identifying Robbery Suspect

    The Lopatcong Township Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying an individual responsible for a robbery in progress at the First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union May 22, 2024.

    LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Lopatcong Township Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying an individual responsible for a robbery in progress at the First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union.

    On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at approximately 9:50 A.M., the Lopatcong Township Police Department was dispatched to a robbery in progress at the First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union located at 501 Baltimore Street in Lopatcong. The unidentified individual entered the credit union where they allegedly demanded money from the teller.

    Previously reported by TAPinto, on the morning of May 22, 2024, at 9:45 A.M., both the Phillipsburg High School and Phillipsburg Primary School were advised to shelter in place due to an active police investigation . Authorities have not yet confirmed whether this incident was related or not.

    There were no reports of any robbery attempts at any other area banks, according to a statement from Warren County Acting Prosecutor Anthony Picione.

    The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office states the investigation is currently ongoing and no additional details are available at this time

    The Lopatcong Township Police Department is conducting the investigation with assistance from the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
