West Park baseball works to strike out cancer
Cancer is the disease that has affected us all at one point or another. West Park High’s baseball team held its third annual Strike Out Cancer baseball game against Vista del Lago on Saturday. It’s a special day each year where the team recognizes cancer and all the loved ones battling the disease, as well as those who have been taken because of it. It means a lot to those involved, including West Park head coach Ben Petersen, who lost his mom eight years ago at age 49 to ovarian cancer.

Dynasty: Placer's Isaac leads Hillmen to another boys tennis title
Tom Isaac has lost count of how many league championships he has won in 26 years of coaching boys and girls tennis at Placer High School. Isaac's teams have won the league championship every season in boys tennis and all but one with the girls.
